Marlow de Mardt is a passionate, meticulous, and dedicated film producer with over 30 years of international experience. Deeply respected within the industry, Marlow is driven by a love for powerful storytelling and a commitment to bringing compelling, independent content to life. She is also a strong supporter of emerging voices in cinema, working tirelessly to elevate fresh perspectives and bold new narratives.

In 1994, Marlow co-founded DO Productions alongside Brigid Olen, marking the beginning of a long and successful production career. Since then, she has produced several award-winning international theatrical releases in collaboration with some of the world’s most renowned film studios and distributors. Recent highlights include Hammarskjöld (Swedish theatrical release, 2023 and Safe House (Norwegian - theatrical release, 2025). Her work spans television and film, with notable credits such as the Netflix global hit Barbarians (2020 and 2021 seasons), produced by Gaumont Germany, shot in Hungary and Poland. She also contributed to Wisting (Norwegian series, 2021) and the historical drama Atlantic Crossing (Norway/Czech Republic, 2018–2019), one of the largest budget series produced out of Norway.

From 2012 onward, Marlow has focused exclusively on Scandinavian projects originating from Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. Her earlier work includes Themba: A Boy Called Hope, based on the South African novel by Lutz van Dijk and directed by Stefanie Sycholt. The film received critical acclaim, winning the Cinema for Peace Film of the Year award in 2010, along with 16 international festival awards and 3 nominations. Between 2018 and 2021, Marlow continued to work internationally across Norway, Hungary, Poland, and the Czech Republic.

Marlow’s career is marked by numerous accolades and achievements. She was one of the original founders of the International Women in Film chapter in South Africa (1997), and a recipient of the prestigious Crystal Award presented by actor and producer Alfre Woodard. She co-founded Table Mountain Studios in 2004, establishing it as a successful production venture. Feature film Malunde also received a Cinema for Peace Award. In 2015. Marlow was invited to serve as an international juror in New York, in 2015, and returned in 2021 as a shared recipient of the award for Best Mini-Series, selected from over 100 international entries.

Brigid Olen, co-founder and partner at DO Productions (Pty) Ltd, is a dynamic and influential figure in the independent film industry. With a career spanning a diverse range of productions, Brigid has built a remarkable portfolio that includes films selected for prestigious international festivals such as Sundance, Cannes, and the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), where her work has received critical acclaim and numerous awards. Her strategic vision and creative instincts have consistently positioned her projects on the global stage.

Beyond her producing work, Brigid has played an active role in shaping the South African film industry through her service on several executive committees, including the Independent Producers Organization (IPO) and the Writers Guild of South Africa (WGSA). Her commitment to advocating for writers and creative professionals has taken her to key international forums in Los Angeles, Prague, and London, where she has represented the WGSA and championed the rights and visibility of local talent on a global scale.

Her production expertise and collaborative spirit are especially evident in the co-production of the Blinded series with Swedish company FLX, a project that led to the founding of DO Productions Malta. This expansion reflects Brigid’s global outlook and her ability to adapt seamlessly across borders and cultures. Filming across Sweden, Greece, Lithuania, and Slovakia, she has cultivated an extensive international network and a keen eye for stories that resonate across diverse audiences.

Brigid has worked with some of the world’s most celebrated directors and actors, including John Malkovich, Robert Downey Jr., Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult, Michael Shannon, Mads Mikkelsen, Eva Green, James Brolin, Robert Pattinson, Samuel West, Julian Sands, Max von Sydow, Kristanna Loken, Steven Seagal, Alain Delon, Andie MacDowell, Olivia Williams, Gustaf Skarsgård, and Matias Varela. When not on set or in development, Brigid actively seeks co-production opportunities with partners across the UK, Europe, and Scandinavia, continuing to expand her creative reach and produce bold, globally relevant work.
